Unlocking Business Success

February 21, 2020

It seems that everyone wants to achieve business success, but no one seems really sure about how to reach it. To tell the truth, most people aren’t even sure what that term means.

Most people who start a business concern themselves with the various details of the business; products, location, accounting and marketing. If they are even little bit business savvy (English slang for knowledge, understanding or common sense), they will start with a business plan and maybe even a marketing plan. Those items are certainly necessary to start a business on the right foot, and are necessary if you want to have any chance at success. But you are still missing something.

What is missing is a personal plan for success. You see, most people invest time, money and effort in learning about different aspects of their business; things like marketing or purchasing or finance. People look for business knowledge, but they seldom look for success knowledge. That’s because many people are not even aware of the great amount of knowledge and education that’s out there about the subject of Success.

Public schools, if they teach anything about business, teach courses about executive or bookkeeping skills; often writing skills, also. If they teach anything about preparing for adult life, it is usually along the lines of hygiene, home economics, language, some mathematics and even human reproduction. All those areas are wonderful. However, few, if any secondary or advanced schools or universities offer any kind of training in the area of Success.

It’s not for a lack of literature on the subject. For at least two thousand years, hundreds of writers have written many tens of thousands of works on the subject of Success and dozens of related areas such as mental conditioning, self-image psychology, self-hypnosis, mind control and many others.

We can’t really fault the educational establishments for not teaching Success. They have their hands full with what they are already trying to do. So, where do we learn about Success?

Well, we can learn about success in a couple of ways. Much of our learning comes from our surroundings. Some of us learn about business attitudes or social prejudices or even food likes and dislikes from family and friends around us. In the same way, we may learn about attitudes toward music, literature, self-image and success.

For most of us, however, we need to make a conscious effort to learn about success. Some researchers on the subject have treated it as a science that can be learned in a step by step manner. One of most respected writers of the past century was Napoleon Hill, Famous for his Law of Success and Think and Grow Rich. It has been said that his writings are responsible for helping to create more millionaires than anyone else’s.

But there are many others like him, before and since. Most of today’s success writers can trace their own ideas back to those of Napoleon Hill, Maxwell Maltz, MD (Psycho-Cybernetics), or Richard Bandler and John Grinder, the founders of Neuro-Linguistic Programming.

So, how do we plan to achieve business success? We need to make our own commitment to success. We need to prepare ourselves by learning about success. How? Read about and study success. Where do we find the information? We find it in libraries, book stores or on the Internet. There is more free information about success on the internet than you could read in ten years.

Use your favorite search engines to find out about the writings on success. Look under the word success as well as the other related terms to start with. Also look for the names mentioned in this article. You will find more than enough information to fill up your hard drive.

Wish you all success!
